DIY Pom Pom Clutch

I'm loving the pom pom trend that I have been seeing around on backpacks, clothing, and even wrapping paper so I decided to whip out the hot glue gun along with some pom pom trim and get to work on a clutch that I have been wanting to spruce up for a while! Hopefully this post inspires you to make something with pom poms because they are just so stinking cute!

Supplies:
-pom pom trim from Joann's (two yards)
-clutch (thrifted)
-hot glue gun & glue
-scissors
-cut trim according to size of flap
-turn over flap and start glueing
-seal down trim as you go to make sure the glue is still wet

-glue inside the creases along borders of clutch
-place trim inside gluey crease and seal down

Yay!! Pom pom trim clutch!!

Can't wait to show this off ;)

Finally...!!!!

Finally, two of my favorite bloggers, Emma and Elsie from A Beautiful Mess, created the cutest photo editing app called "beautiful mess" and it just launched today! Not only is this app totally addicting, but it brings such a fun, fresh life to iphone pictures and instagrams! It has so many great features including camera filters, texts, doodle, and phrases!  The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod, and iPads so you can download it from the iTunes store for just $0.99!!

Check out the beautiful mess I have created with some of my favorite iPhone and instagram pics :)

- and with love love, a

p.s.!!! Remember to hashtag #abeautifulmess if you post your beautiful mess !!!

...and yes, the majority of pics on my iPhone consist of delicious food and my silly piglet face, so there you go! :P

Crepe Kit

Thinking of a creative hostess or housewarming gift can be bit daunting. The pressure of buying something that will fit in ones home and reflect their style, or the anxiety of unwrapping something that you "LOVE" and "just so happened really needed", when it will actually be hidden until the next time that person visits can be really stressful. While the more typical gift like a seasonal dish towel and scented soap is a lovely gesture, making a home a little more special by adding a personal and creative touch can really go a long way. So that's how my sister and I came up with creating a Crepe Kit to bring as a little house warming gift for our friends, Stacey and Caitlin! Best of all this is cute and EASY :) Hope you enjoy!

Crepe Kit:

-Large Jar
-Mini chalkboards and chalk
-Twine
-Basket Filler

-Crepe Mix
-Mini wild blueberry syrup
-Mini Nutella
-Mini apricot jam
-Mini whisk

-fill bottom of jar with basket filler
-arrange all the ingredients and whisk inside the jar
-wrap the neck of the jar with twine and tie on chalk board and chalk

BTDUBSSSS:
In case you have not yet noticed, I am kind of, actually seriously OBSESSED things that are simple, easy, and involving anything miniature. Not yet sure if it is a healthy obsession or not...I guess time will tell ;)

-and with love, a
p.s. I'm thinking next time it would be cute to make a little cupcake kit! What else do you think would work?

*Supplies found at World Market with the exception of  twine and basket filler which can be found at Michaels

Weekend DIY

Happy Weekend Everyone! Hope you enjoy this fun mini canvas DIY!

Supplies:
-white acrylic paint
-pink (or any color you may choose) acrylic paint
-two small paint brushes
-black ribbon
-scissors
-three 2x2 mini canvases
-ruler
-pencil
-stapler
-reinforcement labels
Paint each canvas white as a base coat...

allow to dry completely, then make desired patterns using a ruler or straight edge...

for polkadots it is best to arrange reinforcement labels on the canvas and add paint in the center of each label...

allow to dry completely...

turn over canvases and space them out evenly, lay out ribbon and cut it leaving extra space at the top...

staple the ribbon on the top and bottom of each canvas

Make a loop with the excess ribbon on the top and tie a bow on it!

Tips:
-Don't be afraid to make mistakes, the white paint will be your best friend.
-Blowdryers are great paint dryers for those who are as impatient as me :)

Now I just need to find the perfect spot to hang this up!

-and with love, a

p.s. Comment and share your weekend craft ideas with me and let me know what you think of this one!

Crazy for Cork!

One of my favorite ways to come up with a new DIY is to go to the craft store without a list of supplies. Today, I went in knowing that I wanted to make something with neon colors, and the rest was up to what seemed to call my name from the shelves! These super fun cork gift tags are sure to brighten up any gift, and depending on the stamp, they can be made for all sorts of occasions!

Supplies*
neon paint
medium paint brush
stamps
ink
cork gift tags

Stamp the tag...
use the tip of the paint brush to make dots...

and voila!

Hope you enjoy this simple, easy, and adorable DIY! Leave a comment below and tell me what you think!
